Mara is a social worker with aver a decade of of experience providing services to people and families of all ages and many different backgrounds. She graduated from the Tulane School of Social Work in 2010 and became an LICSW in 2014.

Mara is experienced in working with members of the LGBTQIA community. In addition to working with many gay, bi and lesbian clients, she has also worked with clients who are trans, genderqueer, poly, asexual, furries, kinky and many other wonderful people of all different stripes and desires.

Mara's training is both as a specialist and a generalist.  Her first job as a social worker was in a center for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault and domestic violence. This experience left her not just with the skills but with the passion for working with survivors of all types. She has continued to support survivors in each of her professional capacities since, which have ranged from guiding survivors through the court process as a victim's advocate to providing family counseling to children in DCF custody. For the 4 years, she  worked at an outpatient clinic, as well as a school and several nursing homes before transitioning to full time private practice. This experience allowed her to hone her skills as a generalist, working with people of all ages and dealing with a wide range of problems from social anxiety to substance abuse.

Mara is adept at navigating the systems that surround people here in Massachusetts, from working with probation officers to attending IEP meetings at clients' schools and filling out DMH applications.
